We offer two kinds of volunteering opportunities: Planning Committee (in advance of an event) and On Site (day of event). Both options are discussed below.
We seek volunteers with skills in marketing, sales, sponsorships, media relations, social media, SEO, project management and event management to serve on our event planning committee. Prior experience is not required, but is highly desirable. The committee holds biweekly conference calls until 10 weeks before the event, when we switch to weekly conference calls. Volunteers are expected to attend 75% of calls or meetings, and are required to use our team collaboration system for committee communications. Volunteering means that you donate your time and skills for the benefit of the project, and consequently, no volunteer roles are paid. You will receive a Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities document once you become a volunteer. Active volunteers who perform duties as agreed on in advance in our the roles and responsibilities document will receive free admission to the event, recognition on the event's page on our website, and public recognition at or during the event itself. Additional benefits are at the discretion of the Association.
We seek volunteers with people skills. You might be checking people in and providing name badges, troubleshooting someone who has lost an item, or helping speakers acclimate to the stage and room, just as a few examples. Prior experience is not required, but is highly desirable. The general rule is 1 hour off (free) to attend the event for every hour worked. Volunteers receive complimentary event registration, recognition on the event's page on our website, and public recognition at or during the event itself. Additional benefits are at the discretion of the Association.
